• Self – lubrication: When PM parts were passed through sintered furnaces, bonding metal burns off this leave porosity which is impregnated with lubricating oil
• Economy – Tooling is designed in such a way that complete or limited machining or finishing required
• Shaped Parts - Powder metallurgy is ideal for the production of uncommon or complex shaped parts
• High dimensional accuracy and good surfaces
• High strength – By opting right combinations of materials and sintering process high tensile strength can be achieved.
• Mass production & low cost – After initially development of PM tools, subsequent production is very high and cost effective
